Meet the Owner - Jay Reynoso
Jay Reynoso is the owner of JR Electrical Services. He’s been working in the electrical trade for nearly a decade now. He’s always known all things electricity and loves it. When asked what first inspired him to go into business for himself and how his vision has evolved since day one, he says, “Seeing that I was capable of managing larger scale projects from start to finish, I always figured I could run my own business and get all the other parts figured out. What I really wanted to do was be able to provide opportunities for others. I’d say the only way my vision has changed is that I try to give my people more opportunities and not hold on to every task. It gives people a sense of accountability in the things they’re doing. That’s made me want to be a better leader for the team and for my business.”
What do you enjoy most about working in the electrical trade?
What I love most is that no two days are ever the same. Every job brings a new challenge, and that keeps us sharp. In this trade, there's always more to learn, and I believe the more well-rounded we are, the more value we bring to the families and businesses we serve. As a family-run company, we treat every project like it’s for our own home—with care, pride, and attention to detail.
What’s one project or type of work you really enjoy doing and why?
I really enjoy lighting projects. There’s something special about bringing light into a space—especially one that’s been dark for a long time. Watching it transform and seeing the client’s reaction makes it all worth it. It’s a reminder of how much of a difference good work can make for a family or business..
What do you like to do when you’re not on the job?
When I'm off the clock, I'm big on spending quality time with family. Whether it’s playing competitive paintball, working out to stay healthy, or getting outdoors with the kids and pups for a hike—we value time together and making memories.
Speaking of pups, why did you choose your dog as the company mascot, and what does he represent about your brand and team?Our dog isn’t just a mascot—he’s part of the family. That’s what he represents: loyalty, protection, and trust. We chose to make him part of the company because he reminds us every day why we do what we do—for the people and pets we love. Our brand is built on that same loyalty and dedication. We treat every customer like family, and every home like it’s our own.
